I love your comment 'If you can't find the meaning, don't present!' I would add and tell my participants - If you can't clarify your purpose for giving the presentation--neither can your audience and you are wasting everyone's time! And, most importantly answer the question 'why should your audience care?'
OMG I laugh aloud, I lovee the pictures - the microsoft one is my favorite
A presentation without aim is like human beings without life. Combine it with a bad design, spice the slides with an insane amount of data, and you can call yourself a murderer.
Keywords: passion, clarity, simplicity
Save many lives with a nice presentation! :)
After all the seriousness of the election - well done Obama - here is something a little bit more light-hearted...

Great presentation. Thank you for sharing. Add one rule: Check your spelling, not once, but three times :- ) (check slide 55 - recipient).
I loved this presentation. It had a clean, simple look; images that went well with the subject of the slides, and its messages came across really well!
HOWEVER on the subject of people creating presentations about how not to create presentations: why is it you never see them present examples of how difficult subject matter SHOULD be presented?!
CHALLENGE:
I'd like to see those PowerPoint gurus make a TECHNICAL PRESENTATION for once. You know, like a presentation about IT ARCHITECTURE or something complex.
Yeah, its EASY to create slides that scream how NOT to make a presentation. Lets see how they do it they had to present something with REAL WORLD COMPLEXITY like the rest of us!
Супер! Спасибо!
great presentation!!!! :) where did you get those cool pictures? (like the VCR tape, good quality)!!! did you have to do some post-editing on the pictures using Photoshop?
This is a really nice presentation. ;) Many thanks.

JWPaul: I trust that there are much less people afraid of lions compared to people afraid of dull presentations in my audience. This is an assumption I am relying on and I am taking my chances here. I might as well be wrong.
I see how the lion relates to wild. But (and I am not being obtuse, just questionning), images are loaded with a lot more context than words. What if someone in your audience is afraid of lions (then you will have lost them - they are not longer following your presentation). What if they look at the background - and it they see that the lion is in a zoo - thus 'contained/tamed' - or perhaps they do not like zoos (again, you have lost them). What if they have just returned from at trip to Africa, and they are now daydreaming about the lions they saw there - again, you have lost them
I know these 'what-ifs' are somewhat arbitrary, but images have an inherent danger in their use. And in this example the lion may be appropiate to highlight a concept or emotion, but...... And more importantly, can (should) images be used only for fundamental concepts and emotions? Or more?
crystal clear!!!
JWPaul: The lion is related to the world 'wild' which seems perfectly on topic to me.
Some excellent thoughts on structure and understanding the REASON for a presentation. But one Q. Some studies (i.e. Bartsch & Cobern 2003) have shown that images _detract_ from the audiences ability to recall key facts. Sure, they may remember the image - but unless it is _directly_ on topic - what does it add? (Thus, for example, unless you are doing a presentation on lions or carnivores, a picture of a lion may be more of a distractor than an aid). Thoughts?
Perfect! Nothing more to say!
really well done and timeless
excellent presentation!! congratulations!
thanks a lot!
Brilliant.
have a look on this example: http://www.slideshare.net/Lenze/me-i-do-my-best-to-save-t...
Excellent!
Really strong presentation, very clear and concise.
Excellent presentation! Clear and informative. You might want to correct the spelling of the word 'recipient' on slide 55. You have 'recepient.'
Very Appealiing ppt
Very nice but too long.
Ciao! I look at that just two days before my presentation and it freeked me out! The consequences was that your work really helped me out in making much better presentation.
thx,
B5
Very powerful presentation. Simple. Effective. Informative. I was looking for this only. Thanks.
Great presentation, and fantastic color /font combinations.......Is there a someplace where I can find more info on some good color/font combinations that are easy on the eye?
cool presentations with great slide directions
keep work and success for everyone

Good work, I've been trying to convince people about 'less is more' in PPT presentations in some PPT workshops; but I think they can't resist to use all the effects, colors, fonts and transitions available. They see them and they just have to use them all. I hope simplicity will finally win the battle....
I've used your work to argue against Power Point excess since the day after I first viewed it....it has had a profound effect on my design work in Power Point (as well as in my photography). While the corporate princes and princesses aren't eager to adopt such 'radical' change in thier grindingly toothsome presentations, a few have been willing to experiment in less public work....which is a step in the direction of efefctive communication.
Thansk for sharing this really useful and inspiring work!

Rule X: Get someone to proofread your slides.
Nice stuff. But Slide 47 is a good example of the vacuity we see when people want to be hip or present like Steve Jobs. Just a few words and one wild/brilliant/vivid image rarely tell you very much.
Interesting ppt on structuring presentations.... Here you can find more information on on communication methods. In particular, check out the method by Barbara Minto called 'The Pyramid Principle'. It gives more detailed information on how you can structure writings and presentations to make a good point and more impact.
Very nice ppt...i became ur fan............after reading this
Great presentation! Congratulations!
Good suggestions...but one aspect is overlooked. Typically Power Point presentations are delivered on a projector, and in many cases in meeting rooms, class rooms and the like. The presenter etc desires high quality images with stunning impact and herein lies the problem, as it is also desirable to keep the room highly lit...why because if you darken the room the audience will have a tendency to doze (especially after lunch and towards the end of the day)...Not good if you want the audience's captive attention. Also it isolates the audience, disrupts the flow, discourages eye contact, makes it a special event and can make note taking difficult or refering to printed material difficult.. Well you might say we will leave the lights on or the curtains open...then the images are never brilliant, most times washed out. So is there a solution to this problem that really makes a difference. Well as you might have guessed yes there is and you can check it out here www.digitaldaytime.com. With such brilliant presentations on this web site it would be a shame to see the audience doze off or the images washed out.
I work with teachers and have tried to tell them this concept over and over - now I have some 'fuel'. Perhaps I will do a similar show but use examples from the classroom.
