    As fotos abaixo são das montanhas de Ailao e ficam no distrito de Yuanyang, província de Yunnan, no sul da China. O povo que habita a região pertence à minoria étnica, os Hanis. Estes, têm pelo menos 1.300 anos de história desenvolvendo um tipo de agricultura muito incomum. Em montanhas cujas altitudes podem atingir 2000 metros, eles constroem e irrigam terraços para servir de área agricultável. Destaque-se que durante quase toda história a enxada foi a única ferramenta usada para conseguir esta proeza da agricultura.
