Uppsala Internationalization Model for Non-Governmental Oragnization
I analysed the international process of Non-governmental organizations (NGOs). As I am very interested in this kind of organizations and already completed several interimships in NGOs, I was eager to apply the international theories to some real-life case studies. I compared the two micro-credit NGOs, Grameen Bank and Accion International, and found out that the social mission of NGOs is the dominate factor regarding internationalisation decisions. However, what is even more surprising, are the managerial implications of this fact and the membership organized structure and the working environment of NGOs. Furthermore, comparing the two microcredit NGOs, Grameen seems more successful than Accion if one compares the scalability of the business model and credit numbers.
