X - Getting #1 In Google There are 3 main steps in the SEO process 3) Identify your Target market or Audience(Visitor) 4) take steps to get your website rank as high as possible in the search engines for those keywords that this audience is most likely to use. 5) constantly track your website’s progress in the search engines and make adjustments to your SEO strategy as necessary. Search Engine Optimization is the process of driving targeted traffic from search engines to a website.

Slide 3: http://www.seolinkexpert.com The SEO LOGO  What SEO is NOT…  Online advertising (buy advertising for traffic from other websites) is not SEO (it is site promotion, although the advertising links can help your search rankings).  Public relations (press releases, media mentions, blogging coverage) is not SEO (although once again, it is site promotion, which may lead into your site getting links).  SEO is not always free traffic – several very effective SEO techniques will cost you money.

Webmasters submit an address, title, and a brief description of their site, and then editors review the submission. These hybrid search engines will typically favor one type of listing over the other however. Yahoo for example, usually displays human-powered listings. Paid inclusion guarantees your web site gets reviewed and/or indexed promptly. Keep in mind that these search engines still allow people to submit for free; it just takes longer. Pay per click search engines are different. Their listings are comprised entirely of advertisers who have paid to be there. With services such as Yahoo SM, Google AdWords, and FindWhat, bids determine search engine ranking. To get top ranking, an advertiser just has to outbid the competition.
