As teacher we can wonder about the learning potential of Second Life: What are the characteristics of Second Life as learning environment? What are the benefits for pupils? What are the implications for trainers? And last, how to use Second Life as a learning tool? And what feels students in a course on designing and learning activities in Second Life? What are the feelings and emotions that we will have to take into account when designing a training action in Second Life? If we have been students before teachers, we will have much of the path done... Reflections those raised in the online course on "Design of learning activities, Web 2.0 and second life” where a web comic was used to engage students and where a student sent a web comic as response. The best of this: it wasn’t an activity.

Los Sistemas de Gestión del Aprendizaje (LMS) que en su concepción, parten de la gestión del aprendizaje y de materiales de un curso organizados y estructurados dentro de y por el sistema, no tienen porque resultar incompatibles con una metodología didáctica orientada a un Entorno de Aprendizaje Personal (PLEs). Es más, pueden servir de base, de soporte y de punto de partida para adentrarse a construir nuestro propio aprendizaje navegando a través de blogs, wikis, redes sociales, marcadores sociales, podcasts, slideshares, y una gran variedad de herramientas sociales más que configuran este espacio de la Web 2.0, y evitar que naufraguemos en las mismas. Naufragar dada la dificultad, cada vez más frecuente, de encontrar la información pertinente sin perdernos navegando en contenidos relacionados con la información de nuestro interés inicial o no. El diseño de una actividad de aprendizaje puede verse enriquecida por la combinación de un LMS y un Mundo Virtual 3D, ya que, la integración de Second Life y herramientas de comunicación externas permite a los usuarios crear, publicar y gestionar el contenido sin abandonar el entorno virtual 3D. Algunas razones para justificar el para qué, el cómo y el por qué que generarán debate.

Only if you have been there like a student you will consider some aspects not only to improve user engagement if not to enrich the experience and to design the learning activity and, one of the most important things, to research new ways for learning. As student you will realize the importance of a previous support to obtain an idea about the activity (aims, details and methodology) that you are required to make into Second Life. You will consider some values and needs to be explain before using, for example, communicative tools from Second Life. Should you explain what is a notecard before using it in your class? Should you give a roadmap about what kind or Slurls or land could be useful to visit for the learning activity? So, would you explain how to use the map and the search before? And maybe you wonder how would you determine the level of knowledge about Second Life of your students and, if doing that how to design the learning activity because Second Life has to be a tool for teaching not the subject of your learning activity.

Being Digital Native or Digital Immigrant can make a difference for long learning curve into Second Life, most difficult if you are spanish and don't know English at all... so what kind of learning activities could be usefull to cause interest on the users? What Second Life resources are suitables for them? What strategies could be use and when? How can we help them to manage their feelings? The answers of that questions are the parallel job of a workshop about learning activities on Second Life for students of the Expert eLearning Master at the University of Seville (Spain). That difficulties will show us possible improvements to consider into Second Life.
